Environmental Scientist Intern Spotlight: Alexandra Hopkins

Alexandra Hopkins Environmental Science Summer Intern 2017

Alexandra Hopkins, 2017 Environmental Science Summer Intern

Every summer we enjoy the energy of dynamic young professionals involved in our internship program. This year we were pleased to have Alexandra Hopkins at Liberty. Alexandra is currently working towards her M.P.H. (Master’s Degree in Public Health) at George Washington University with a concentration in Infectious Disease Prevention.

While she had several great employment opportunities during her pursuit of an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies from Washington & Jefferson College, Alexandra had not had the chance to work in a field directly related to her education. “One of my favorite things about this experience has been moving around to a different project group every week. Because of this, I have gotten to see each part of the company and the importance of everyone’s role. It has also given me a better idea of where my interests lie,” shared Alexandra.

Alexandra aspires to work with an organization like the CDC or with environmentally related disease control efforts in socioeconomically disadvantaged areas of the U.S. or abroad in Africa, Asia, and the South Pacific. Wherever her path takes her, we know she will make a great impact! Thanks for sharing your summer with us, Alexandra!
