New Methods in Environmental Assessment for Pennsylvania Waterways Permitting

Our team is thrilled to be a part of the 2018 Pennsylvania Association of Environmental Professionals Annual Conference scheduled for May 2-4, at the Toftrees Resort in State College, PA. As part of the annual theme, “Branches of Knowledge” the conference will promote and teach about the unique, interdisciplinary nature of environmental careers and will exemplify the importance of using various fields of study to help analyze and solve environmental issues. David S. Coyne, Principal and Teresa M. Amitrone, Project Manager at Liberty Environmental, Inc. will present a detailed review of the recently-finalized Pennsylvania Function-Based Aquatic Resource Compensation Protocol, and the revised Environmental Assessment formatting in the DEP Chapter 105/USACE Section 404 Water Obstruction and Encroachment Joint Permit Application. The presentation will introduce the calculation methodology for demonstrating adequate compensation credits for mitigation areas to offset unavoidable aquatic resource impacts, and will offer Liberty’s first-hand perspective on strategies for success with the new processes.
