Operations Manager – Reading, PA
Liberty Environmental, Inc., a full-service environmental consulting firm has an opening for an Operations Manager. The Operations Manager reports to the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and works closely with the Controller and COO on a daily basis. The primary responsibilities of the Operations Manager are to assist Liberty’s daily operations through accounting support, human resources support, and office management.
All candidates must have the following qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent and effective written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects at one time, maintain flexibility, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (primarily Adobe, Excel, Word).
- Experience with Unanet, BillQuick Enterprise, and/or QuickBooks is a plus.
Position Requirements:
- B.S., A.D., or equivalent professional experience of 10 years in a managerial role.
- Valid Driver’s License.

Environmental Project Scientist/Engineer – Southeastern PA/NJ
Liberty Environmental, Inc., a full-service environmental consulting firm has an immediate opening for a project scientist or engineer with 3 to 6 years of experience in environmental regulatory compliance, spill contingency plan preparation, reporting and/or air quality permitting/reporting & air pollution control evaluation for industrial clients. The opening is available in southeastern PA (offices in Reading, Lancaster, and Berwyn) or in northern New Jersey.
All candidates must have:
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent and effective written/verbal communication and organizational and analytical skills.
- Experience preparing environmental permit applications, regulatory compliance reports, and writing technical reports.
- Experience with Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey environmental regulatory and permitting programs essential.
- Ability to work on multiple projects at one time, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (primarily Excel and Word) at an advanced level.
Position Requirements:
- B.S. or higher degree in related Environmental, Science, or Engineering field.
- 3 to 6 years of environmental consulting or relevant industrial plant environmental compliance experience with working knowledge of the following regulatory programs: CAA, EPCRA, RCRA, and CWA/NPDES.
- Experience preparing SPCC/PPC spill contingency plans, Tier II and TRI/Form R reports, NPDES wastewater and stormwater DMR reports, and federal hazardous waste reports.
- Experience preparing air quality permit applications, air emissions inventories, air emissions reports and evaluating air pollution control systems a plus.
- Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations with Pennsylvania or New Jersey regulatory experience essential.
- Valid Driver’s License.

Project Geologist – Lancaster/Reading, PA
Liberty Environmental, Inc., a full-service environmental consulting firm has an immediate opening for a project geologist with 4 to 8 yrs. exp. in environmental site assessments, remediation, and brownfield re-development in our Lancaster or Reading, PA office.
The desired candidate will be a flexible and self-motivated team player. Responsibilities include performing Phase I & II environmental site assessments, site characterizations under state cleanup programs, remedial oversight and reporting. The position offers the opportunity to work remotely, based on location and experience.
All candidates must have:
- Strong interpersonal skills (established reputation with potential clients a plus).
- Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced organizational and analytical skills.
- Experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports.
- Ability to work on multiple projects at one time, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience managing schedule, scope, and budget of projects, including staff and subcontractors.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (primarily Word, Excel, and Outlook) at an advanced level.
Position Requirements:
- Related Environmental Science or Geology Degree
- 4 to 8 years of environmental consulting experience in environmental due diligence and remediation.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Valid Driver’s License.

Environmental Consulting Summer Internship (Reading, PA)
Liberty Environmental, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate for an internship position for the summer based in our Reading, Pennsylvania office. The candidate will gain hands-on, real project, field, and office experience working with Liberty’s environmental scientists and managers on sites throughout our service area in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. Candidates should be enrolled as a Junior or Senior class student in a Bachelor’s degree program in environmental science, engineering, geology/geosciences, or related field.
