With the reporting deadline (July 1, 2016) rapidly approaching for the Toxic Release Inventory Program (TRI), our regulatory compliance team has provided a summary of the most recent program update.

In addition to some minor form changes, the Nonylphenol Category has been added to the TRI list of reportable chemicals. Nonylphenol (NP) and Nonylphenol Ethoxylates (NPE) are produced in large volumes, with uses that lead to widespread release to the aquatic environment.  NP’s main use is in the manufacture of NPEs. NPEs are nonionic surfactants that are used in a wide variety of industrial applications and consumer products.  They include dust-control agents and deicers, which direct release to the environment.
